Andruw Jones, John Smoltz share NL Player of the Week honors
For the 2nd week in a row, the Braves are home to the winner(s) of the NL Player of the Week award.
This week Andruw Jones and John Smoltz share the honor. Jones hit 5 home runs in 6 games last week to take the major league lead in the category with 24. He hit .450 with 11 RBIs during the week. Smoltz boasted a 0.50 ERA in two complete game five-hitters during the week. With Kelly Johnson garnering NL Player of the Week honors last week, this is the first time since 1993 that the Braves have had players win the award in consecutive weeks. Steve Avery and Tom Glavine turned the trick in that year.
