Here is a rundown of all the players drafted by the Braves in the 2005 MLB draft. By Wednesday night, the club had signed 7 of their top 10 selections, including their first 5 picks, headlined by the hard-throwing closer Joey Devine. The other signed players included Beau Jones, Yunel Escobar (a shortstop who may soon be ready to fill Rafael Furcal’s shoes if Furcal opts for free agency after this season), Jeffrey Lyman, Jordan Schafer, Brandon Monk, and Kyle Cofield. In all, the Braves used 35 of their 52 picks on pitchers!
